When Sara presents programs of African folktales, she draws on 20 years of research and study.  While at Yale, she studied with Ron Rassner, a folklorist who had spent 5 years in Kenya.  Upon his return, he offered a course on "African Oral Narratives" which provided Sara with the foundation upon which she has built up her repertoire of African folktales.  When presenting stories from the African continent, Sara emphasizes the many distinct cultures and vastly different geographical regions contained on this rich and varied part of our world.
